Melissa Cook, LCSW Welcome to my private practice! I have been providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families of all ages since 1997. I believe in using a strengths-based approach to help empower clients to achieve their goals and make significant, positive changes in their lives. I provide a warm, caring environment for clients to explore, clarify, and resolve their issues. You will receive support, feedback, and suggestions from me as you go through this process. I have an eclectic style in which I use a combination of cognitive behavioral techniques, solution focused, systems theory, and psycho-dynamic approaches, depending on my clients' needs. I facilitate courageous conversations to help families set boundaries, help vs. enable, and engage in honest and open interactions. We will focus on your personal growth and self-care, as well as effectiveness in your relationships. I also teach techniques for stress management, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and self-soothing techniques. Humor is sprinkled into every session, because learning to laugh at ourselves makes enjoying life possible. My overall goal with clients is that they will feel more hopeful about the changes they wish to see in their lives and feel empowered to move forward and make them happen. I am accepting new clients. I accept Cigna, United Health, Medicare, Medicaid, CHP+, and Rocky Mountain Health Care. Contact me today. School: University Of Denver Graduated: 2001 License and State: CSW000249 |
